PRIVACY AND DATA PROTECTION

The Trustees of the UK Friends of the University of Auckland (“the Friends”) process your personal data (as defined by the Data Protection Act 1998 (“the Act”)) for the purposes of: administering the activities of the Friends and making grants to the University of Auckland; achieving the charitable objectives of the Friends including marketing and fundraising to support those objects, which may include marketing to you using telephone, facsimile and electronic mail services; and transferring your personal data to other organisations connected with the grant and bursary award process including the administrators and professional fundraisers contracted to the Friends.

If you would prefer that the Friends did not process your data for the purposes of direct marketing please write to the Trustees of the Friends of the University of Auckland, c/o Chapel & York Ltd, 12 The Courtyard Ladycross Business Park, Hollow Lane, Lingfield, Surrey, RH7 6PB,UK.

The Friends collect sensitive personal data (as defined by the Act) only if permitted to do so by the Act and process it only for the above purposes.

Please note that our files are held in the UK and New Zealand and as a result information held by the Friends may be transferred outside of the European Economic Area where data protection laws are not as strong as within the EEA. If you have any concerns in relation to such transfers, you should not use the Internet as a means of communication with the Friends.

If you supply any visual image or sound recording to the Friends, or the Friends obtains such image or recording by other means, this image or recording may be used for the Friends’ marketing and promotional activities.

The Friends continues to process your personal data after it has sent you any information requested by you.
